History of Osh State University
Osh State University was founded in 1951 as Osh State Pedagogical Institute. It got the status of the University in 1992. Here is the history of the university:
Osh Pedagogical Institute (1939-1951)
In 1939, in order to overcome a low number teachers in schools and pedagogical training, Institute for teachers was opened. The Institute offered a two-year training programme. This training was in subjects such as History and Philology, Physics, Mathematics and Natural sciences and Geography.
Osh State Pedagogical Institute (1951-1992)
On May 24, 1951, by a resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, Osh State Pedagogical Institute as established. In 1961, the new campus was built. The number of graduates increased year by year from Osh State Pedagogical Institute.
Osh State University (1992 – Present)
To ensure educational development in Southern Kyrgyzstan, in 1992, by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Osh State University was established.
New faculties and departments were established to ensure country’s development and to train highly qualified specialists to meet the requirements of the labor market. The Medicial Faculty of the university was established in 1993.
About Osh
Osh is located towards the south of Kyrgyzstan. It is the 2nd largest and the oldest city in the country. The total population of the region is about 2.8 lakh. The city of Osh experiences a continental climate, with hot, dry summers and cold winters. The temperature will drop below zero degrees C in the months of December-February. There will be snowfall during this period. The months of May-November are warm months. Osh is about 600 km away from the capital city of Bishkek. However, it takes as little as 30-45 minutes to reach Osh via flight from Bishkek. More than 500 Indian students are studying here. Osh State University Eligibility for Indian Students
Following is Osh State Medical University MBBS eligibility criteria:

Osh State Medical University Hostel

Admission Process

FMGE Passing Percentage
Kyrgyzstan doesn’t have an impeccable FMGE passing result from all of its universities but they still offer much promise. Not many Indian students who studied MBBS from Kyrgyzstan and then came back have passed the FMGE exam. Osh State Medical University is one of the biggest universities of Kyrgyzstan and yet its passing percentage is not that great at all.
The passing percentage for the year 2012-14 was 11.90%. Between 2015-18 it was 4.39% when 933 students applied but only 41 passed and in 2019, the passing ratio was 10.65%. According to our analysis, any passing percentage that falls under 15-20% is not a good one. Which means that the university would not be favoured by Indian students in the future.

As per the website 4icu.org, Osh State Medical University ranking is 9,424 and the country rank is 7 as on 11 June 2020.
However, as stated by Eduglobe Consultants on several occasions, these world rankings have no relevance while selecting the medical university for MBBS abroad.
The rankings which Indian students should be checking is the MCI result and Osh Medical University MCI Screeing Test passing percentage between 2015-18 was less than 5%.
